- When Sarah Elizabeth Moulton was not quite 6 years old, her mother, Esther Marsh died (1839). Her younger sister, Susan Marsh Moulton, had died when she was just a little more than 1 year old (1836). Their father, Thomas Moulton, then married Sarah Denton. They had 10 more children together and the family traveled on the Ship Thornton to the US and crossed the plains in the Willie Handcart Company.
A little more than a month before her death (age 48), Sarah Elizabeth Moulton sealed herself and acted as proxy for her deceased sister, Susan, to be sealed to their Father, Thomas Moulton and their stepmother, Sarah Denton: 20 Mar 1885 LOGAN (IGI, Film #178087, Pg #170)
